30 Day Challenge
30 Day Challenge
There will be a sticker board of course, community building and support as we sweat together and challenge ourselves on the mat.
The 30 Day Challenge is for the month of October but don’t fret, you can have days off, we consider 25 of 30 days a completed Challenge. We want it to be challenging but more importantly to create a sustainable habit of getting on the mat – a 30 Day Challenge is a fun way to do just that! There will be lots of super sweaty high fives along the way!
Registration and karma funds are being donated to New Leaf Foundation.
30 Day Challenge October 2018 is focusing on the Pillars:
In mind, body, and spirit – we practice healthy living and self-care.
Yoga is for everyone! All abilities, bodies, and backgrounds are welcome with open arms.
The care, respect, and protection of our planet is tied to our own well-being.
We’re stronger together when we reach out and support one another.
LIVE TO LEARN
To be anything – we must learn. Stay humble, curious, and passionate.
We cultivate harmony – inside and worldwide.
For anyone interested in learning more, longer Pillar descriptions are outlined below. These descriptions speak to the essence of each Pillar as well as the meaning behind our new illustrations
A regular yoga practice improves our ability to make healthy choices for our body and mind. By developing healthy habits, we become aware of the impact of our choices – not only on our health, but on the health of all people around us, the community around us, and on the planet itself. These choices – large or small – can lead to a happier, balanced, more peaceful life.
A drop of water is our symbol of health and healthy choices. Water is the life source for all living things.
Our studios are a place for all – all bodies, all abilities, all races, and all kinds of people. Every Modo Yoga studio is a home. A home that is welcoming, kind and free of judgement. We encourage diversity on every level, in every way. Accessibility is at the heart of our community – we want everyone to be excited and proud of who they are, today and everyday.
Our symbol for accessibility is a home without walls. A home for an ever-expanding heart.
At the heart of a yoga practice is the willingness to see the world beyond our own experience. Be Green means that we dedi- cate ourselves to the protection and regeneration of the natural world. We need the trees, the water, the air and the diversity of all life in order to survive and thrive. We plant trees. We protect the biodiversity of our tropical forests. We support organi- zations that safeguard our waterways and we build and operate our studios with conservation as our guide.
We’ve created our own Fight the Power symbol for Be Green because conserving the natural world is always worth a peaceful revolution!
The Modo Yoga community is a big family made up of students, teachers and owners. Community is all about reaching out. In this way, community also includes those who are in need of help, representation and recognition. Being part of a communi- ty helps us grow. It keeps us accountable and aware of how we can help ourselves and in turn, help others. Be Community is about giving and receiving.
Our symbol for community is a circle created by rays of individual light stretching in and reaching out. The circle can be the warmth of the strong sun or the gentleness of the moon.
LIVE TO LEARN
A teacher is always a student. We learn from our yoga practice and from the world around us. If we are curious and humble, we open ourselves up to growth and improvement, both in our practice and in our personal lives. Live To Learn means recognizing that the traditional teachings of yoga have always encouraged a curious mind, an open heart and a growing awareness.
We capture Live to Learn with a feather pen and an endless line to symbolize life long learning.
Yoga is a catalyst for peace. We attempt to create peace in each pose in order to cultivate peace within ourselves and use it in our everyday lives. In our yoga practice, we learn to meet challenges with breath awareness. When we take this presence off our mat and into our life, it informs our actions, decisions and communication. Be Peace is about creating an inner peace and inspiring others to act peacefully too. A commitment to peace will create a better world.
A mountain range is our symbol for Be Peace. In our practice Mountain Pose is our home base. It is where we always return to, it is our stable foundation.
